Fitness enthusiast and reviewer from Rome

The Short Version

I am Lorenzo Bianchi based in Rome, and over the past few years I've chronicled my experiences at gyms across Italy.

This site came about because I grew tired of selecting gyms based on adverts and vague suggestions, only to learn the reality didn't match. I sought concrete, honest details about what these places are really like, and since I couldn't find them, I built this site.

How This Started

My training routine began at a small gym near Via del Corso 210 in Rome. It wasn't perfect, yet it was approachable, affordable, and it helped me stay consistent.

After that place closed, I saw how fast the fitness scene in Italy was changing. New clubs opened, new ideas emerged, and marketing grew louder than actual member experiences.

I began trying different gyms and classes, jotting notes after each visit. Eventually those notes formed this site, designed to help others make better-informed choices.

My Approach to Reviews

Every review here is based on real visits and time spent inside the facilities. I focus on practical details that matter when selecting a membership.

When evaluating a gym, I usually:

  • Dedicate enough time to understand routines, peak times, and trends
  • Visit on various days and at different times
  • Try multiple training formats and instructors
  • Regularly use facilities to assess cleanliness and comfort
  • Chat with other members about what's reliable and what's not
  • Take notes right after each visit

I update reviews when changes occur: renovations, management shifts, price changes, or new amenities. Each article indicates its last update date so you know how current it is.

What I Look For

My priorities might differ from yours, so here is what matters most to me when evaluating a fitness center:

Comfort and Privacy: Does the space feel thoughtfully designed for members, with clear boundaries and a calm vibe?

Equipment Quality: Are machines well-maintained? Is there a good variety? Are repairs prompt?

Crowd Management: Is it feasible to train at your preferred times without constant queues?

Clean Facilities: Lockers, showers, floors, and surfaces. Cleanliness reflects how seriously management takes the member experience.

Honest Membership Practices: Clear pricing, clear rules, and no surprises.

Beyond the Gym

Outside of training and writing, I live and work in Rome. This project aims to simplify fitness decisions and make them more transparent for those seeking the right vibe.
